2014 Skellenger Lane Cabernet Sauvignon
Fess Parker was a man of great optimism and curiosity. A man who possessed an uncanny ability to envision what was possible in any given scenario. Accordingly, he was ever eager to embrace the next challenge. It stands to reason then that a desire to breach boundaries is woven into the fabric of the next generation of Parkers. Addendum represents that next frontier to be tamed, a continuation of the adventure.
"Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2014 Skellenger Lane Cabernet Sauvignon is beautifully scented of cassis, crushed red currants, mulberries and plums over opulent suggestions of sandalwood, Indian spices, Sichuan pepper and cedar chest. Full-bodied and built like a brick house, the firm structure backs up the taut, muscular fruit, offering glimpses at the latent layers in the midpalate and very long finish." ~ Wine Advocate
"A 100% varietal, site-specific wine from the heart of the appellation, this succeeds in a herbal persistence and lean nose. Red currant, cassis and anise wrap around thick tannins, with lingering notes of clove and cedar." ~ Wine Enthusiast
"Coming from a famous site in Rutherford, the 2014 Cabernet Sauvignon Skellenger Lane was brought up in 100% new French oak. It offers a darker, richer, more masculine style with ripe tannin as well as lots of black fruits, scorched earth, licorice and charcoal. Big, burly, rich and concentrated, I love its mid-palate and it will be even better in another few years." ~ Jeb Dunnuck
"...a very pretty wine. Sweet red cherry and plum fruit show terrific purity in this impeccably balanced, midweight Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon. This is an impressive debut from Addendum." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous
