I’ve always operated on the philosophy that wine is made in the vineyard and that it is a winemaker’s duty to showcase the beautiful bounty that Mother Nature has already produced. This is especially true of the Inspiration white blend, as the end result is much more than just the sum of its parts. Under the right guidance, the varietals will reveal their naturally generous and seductive aromas, flavors, and textures in harmony. If overly manipulated, the wine will be disjointed, overwhelming, and contrived. Camp Four Vineyard make this endeavor easy, producing ripe, unctuous fruit, while maintaining the natural acidity needed to keep the ripeness in check. A very modest application of primarily 1-year old French oak further allowed for pure varietal expression, resulting in a hedonistic yet incredibly balanced blend of Grenache Blanc, Viognier, Marsanne, and Roussanne that lives up to its name, as it will inspire you again and again to share it over a good meal with your favorite people.
The wine’s salient light straw color sets the stage for the intensely concentrated aromas of white flowers, honeydew melon, jasmine, vanilla, yellow peach, nectarine and orange marmalade that jump from the glass. In the mouth, the wine’s generous flavors of citrus, tangerine, vanilla, almond, honeysuckle and lemon cream flood the palate, while a refreshing acidity courses through the mid-palate and lingers delicately on the finish. For a full sensory experience, enjoy this wine cool but not overly chilled.
