2016 Fesstivity Blanc De Noirs
"The 2016 Blanc De Noir checks in as 82% Pinot Noir and 18% Chardonnay. It's a more toasty effort that offers plenty of hazelnut and brioche nuances as well as background stone fruits. Made in a richer, more opulent style (think Krug as opposed to Cristal), it hits the palate with plenty of fruit and richness, terrific balance, no hard edges, and a great finish. This cuvée had 19 months of aging and 10 grams of dosage." ~ Jeb Dunnuck
"Sour orange aromas team up with warm and yeasty scents of egg bread on the nose of this delightful sparkler. The mousse on the palate is quite lush in texture, and carries flavors of tart green apple and the slightest show of toasty oak." ~ Wine Enthusiast
"...another very pretty wine...Bright floral notes add an attractive upper register to a core of Pinot fruit. Plum, wild flowers, mint and spice are nicely laced together in an expressive, inviting Blanc de Noir that will drink well right out of the gate." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous
The delicate, persistent bubbles and straw color with a hint of salmon are harbingers of great things to come. You will detect hints of brioche, ginger and lemon rind on the nose. The palate offers up gorgeous citrus and tangerine flavors tempered by mineral notes and a delicious yeasty/pastry dough element as a result of extended time laying en tirage.
