Description
The Stags Leap District wine is our first foray into this acclaimed AVA. "A friend-of-a-friend" situation lead us to the Hirondelle vineyard owned by Stags Leap standout, Clos du Val. As luck would have it, we secured the one uncommitted block of Cabernet Sauvignon and away we went! This district is characterized by gravelly soils over a clay-like substructure along with stronger nightly cooling due to closer proximity to the San Pablo Bay. The resulting wines have been described as "textural hedonism"; wines full of flavor and intensity with a softer, elegant structure. The 2017 Addendum Stags Leap District absolutely delivers.
