Description

"...has so much to offer. Super-ripe dark fruit, leather, smoke, tobacco and cedar are all given an extra kick of intensity. I would prefer to drink this racy, bold Mourvèdre over the next 5-7 years." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous

"Intense aromas of blackberry and boysenberry are cut by cola spice, earthy leather and a touch of milk chocolate and caramel on the nose of this bottling. The wine lands smoothly on the palate, where black-plum and purple-flower flavors cling to the fresh acidity." ~ Wine Enthusiast

"I loved the 2017 Mourvedre Rodney's Vineyard. This spicy, peppery, blackberry, and black raspberry-scented 2017 is medium-bodied, has an elegant, light texture, and just a delicious style. Drink this complex, meaty Mourvèdre over the coming 7-8 years." ~ Jeb Dunnuck

If you are a Cabernet Sauvignon fan, you would be missing out if you didn’t give Mourvèdre a try. This wine is a rustic full-bodied alternative originating from Spain. Black cherry and wild black raspberry are prominent on the nose, followed up by leather, scorched earth and vanilla with a hint of rose petal. Bold black cherry and plum flavors are complemented by wild thyme, cinnamon, vanilla and baking chocolate on the palate.

Pair this Mourvèdre with barbecue, pork shoulder or beef short ribs. For a vegetarian alternative, try a wild rice and shiitake / portobello mushroom based dish.
