Description

"...a bold, racy wine. Super-ripe dark cherry, chocolate, licorice and mint open up first, with an extra kick of sweetness from the new oak. Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon work so well together here. The Syrah-Cabernet Sauvignon is often one of the better wines in the range, as it is again in 2017." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous

"Roasted red-cherry, smoked meat and salt-pork aromas show on the nose of this bottling, which includes 60% Syrah and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon. The palate is also smoke-driven and savory, with barbecue-like flavors surrounding the tangy red-fruit tones." ~ Wine Enthusiast

"...solid and well worth purchasing...offers lots of cedary, bay leaf, tobacco, and leathery notes in a medium-bodied package. It shows some peppery, meaty, iron notes with time in the glass and is going to evolve for 7-8 years or more." ~ Jeb Dunnuck

A rich, full-bodied wine where Cabernet's structure and depth are balanced by Syrah's jammy fruit-forward flavors. This wine offers savory aromas of dark berries, cassis, baking spices and vanilla that intermingle with earthy notes of dried tobacco, cigar box and saddle leather. Notes of dark fruit flavors carry on to the palate, with dark chocolate, vanilla and a hint of black currant.

This blend will pair well with spicy dishes, try with a rosemary & garlic spiced rack of lamb or a spicy grilled steak.
