2018 Sanford & Benedict Pinot Noir
Description
"The 2018 Pinot Noir Sanford & Benedict Vineyard comes from a great site on the southern side of the Sta. Rita Hills and was brought up in 40% new French oak. Plum/ruby-hued, with notes of Bing cherries, candied violets, spice, and sappy herbs, it hits the palate with medium to full-bodied richness, a tight, vibrant texture, nicely integrated acidity, and a great finish. It should evolve for a decade." ~ Jeb Dunnuck
Sanford & Benedict is really the vineyard that started it all in Santa Barbara County. Starting with the 2015 vintage we were fortunate to secure several tons of Pinot Noir grapes from one of the most historically significant vineyards in all of California.
Originally planted in 1971, this mature vineyard yields a wine that is beautifully structured while also retaining the finesse and elegance we love in Pinot Noir.
