Description

This wine is a quintessential example of the high pedigree of fruit from the fabled Bien Nacido vineyard in the Santa Maria Valley.

Big, rich and velvety on the palate with loads of forward cherry & strawberry fruit framed in with complex spice, cola and toast characteristics. This wine is eminently drinkable today but also has a great track record of aging for 8-10 years. Cheers!

Wine Critic Reviews
"A translucent plum color, the 2023 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard offers black cherries, mulberries, peppery herbs, and forest underbrush notes, as well as a subtle hint of marine-like character. Made from 100% Pinot Noir and aged 10 months in 40% new French oak, it's nicely textured and medium-bodied on the palate, with a broad, rich mouthfeel and outstanding length. This classic, meaty, darker Bien Nacido Pinot Noir will keep for 7-8 years, minimum. Drink 2025-2033." ~ Jeb Dunnuck "Bold and juicy aromas of cherry and baking spice show on the nose of this richer bottling. That red fruit richness holds into the palate, where it's cut by an orange peel snap and a hint of oak." ~ Wine Enthusiast "Savory and herbaceous, the 2023 Pinot Noir Bien Nacido Vineyard opens with notes of tomato leaf, sage, tart cranberry and rooibos tea...with some slightly angular curves and drying tannins, but it's certainly not shy on character." ~ Antonio Galloni's Vinous
